Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies of the world, Especially to my mom! I am off to run a 5k race with my mom to celebrate her day... I know, that doesn't sound like a relaxing day but it's a special run called The Chocolate Race - and who doesn't love chocolate! I am pretty excited!

In anticipation of Mother's Day, I was thinking back to the cards and crafts I made for my mom as a kid and was really excited about making her another one - a better one - because what mom doesn't love homemade gifts from their children... even if that child is 27! This card is really quite simple and was made with a bunch of scraps I had left over from the Close to My Heart Skylark Workshop on the Go Kit. I really love the use of teal colours that come in this kit.

Let me know what you think in the comments below, I would love to hear from you! Enjoy the rest of your (hopefully) beautiful day!!

Rainy Sunday Layout

Today I spent the afternoon scrapbooking in my basement, hiding out from the rain! I am trying my hardest to finish up my scrapbook from University (which I attended almost 4 years ago now!). I find I get distracted by my other albums and sometimes procrastinate on the University one... maybe because I wish I was still a part of that care free life without a job... haha. Anyways I was using a kit I bought last weekend to complete a page of my boyfriend and I when we were first dating. I have to give credit to Virginia Nebel who designed the layout (Also I see on her blog that she taught the kit in a class at the Toronto Creativ Festival but I could not make the class). Anyways, here they are...

Inspire Paper Crafts is born!

Hello!
I am new to the blogging world and it is a very exciting learning process. My blog is about paper crafting (scrapbooking, cards, smashbooks etc.) along with other creative crafts I can come up with! I will be posting my creations as well as the new techniques I have tried... and maybe failed at, Its all about learning. I want to inspire other people with ideas and layouts as well as encourage them to try new things!

Now how this all started...

This past weekend I became a new consultant with the company Close To My Heart! This is a wonderful company that sells papercrafting supplies online and through home parties. My friend and I were visiting Creativfestival and came across a wonderful booth selling Close to My Heart products. They had a promotion where you could receive a free cricut cartridge if you signed up as a consultant so I figured why not? I was welcomed into the family of consultants with open arms and as I explored the company discovered what an excellent opportunity had fallen into my lap. I have always been an avid crafter, especially scrapbooking, and have often thought how fabulous it would be to open my own business so this seemed like a perfect option to balance my hobby while sharing my knowledge and experience with other papercrafters!

So...here we go!
